So bright, so much sparkle in this month's Sticky Cap selections. Morgan recreated a past color, Iroki, and created a new color, Parhelion. Both are full of sparkly gold. We also included Sunflower Yellow gouache, Meteor, Peachy Keen, and Basic Red. I passed some daffodils starting to grow and saw the first few camellias on the tree outside my house, both inspired me to select a vibrant warm palette as I impatiently anticipate spring. I hope you're all having a creative start to 2026. Tag us in your creations at @pushpullseattle if you want to showoff what you are making.

October has been a month of new Sticky Cap colors and bringing back some old favorites. Morgan was inspired by two of our inks and created Peachy Keen and Banana Slug to pair with them. If you love these two colors, try out the inks with the same names. We brought back Meteor and Stormy Blue, two popular colors that have been gone for a few months. We also added Pine Cone and Sea Wolf - two creations by Morgan. For this month’s inks I chose three that have matching Sticky Caps. Bayou is a beautiful cerulean blue with shimmer that makes it look like a bayou’s surface in the sun. Shadow is a chromatic black made from magenta and green - my favorite way to make a shadow color! Lay the ink on thick and then add water once it’s dry to see color break out of the black. Witching Hour is possibly our most popular ink, we’ve sent it to stores all over the country. October is Witching Hour’s month and the month that it debuted a year ago. It’s a navy with lots of gold sparkle. As always, sparkly inks may not work with every fountain pen and typically are best for a medium or broad nib. I hope you enjoy this month’s art supplies!
-Maxx FG Ink and Deluxe subscribers received our Northern Lights inks, which officially come out in October. Only Deluxe subscribers got the full line of inks. Bottle design is by Kaylyn Chileen. Sticky cap and Deluxe subscribers received our latest paints. Two Halloween-inspired, Nevermore and Bat-Winged Newt, plus four bug-inspired for the new Paint Bugs! set made in collaboration with RJ of Carapace Illustration.
Plus two more Sticky Caps to complete the August package - Tuesday, a bright cool red, and Fairy Wren, one of the new vegan Sticky Caps from the Feather set. Deluxe subscribers also got memo pads with Risograph printed colors and designs by Maxx FG.

This month subscription boxes went out a few days later than targeted. That's because I was on a roadtrip with my mom. It was beautiful and inspiring and I'll be making up the delay by creating some new palettes based on a few of my favorite things. Rusty & faded traincars, many colors of lichen on the Oregon Trail, the Columbia River Gorge, Painted Hills. Back to business though, here's what's in this month's subscription boxes:
Here’s everything that came with the May 2025 subscription boxes. Watercolors: Wild Strawberry: Can you make a red paint with no red pigment? yes! This beautiful cool red is proof. It’s a combination of our Process Yellow and Quinacridone Magenta. Kingfisher: Teal is a strong favorite color at Pull/Pull but making teal paint can be difficult. Kingfisher is a gorgeous sparkly teal. It reveals its full beauty on the paper. Nightshade: Another addition to our Vegan collection. Vegan paints us glycerine instead of honey as a wetting aid. Nightshade is a Mars Black which gives it a warm feel. Quetzal: We were so excited to get this restock out that it shipped minus packaging. This color is made by Morgan Robles and transforms the usually opaque and flat Chromium Oxide Green into a lovely, shimmery, transparent green. Marigold: Did you know Kaylyn’s birth month flower is a marigold? Well, I do because she just got a tattoo of one. So, in celebration of Kaylyn and every other October baby, I created a watercolor and ink in a golden yellow. Dahlia: If you love the Dahlia ink, you’ll love the Dahlia paint. It’s inspired by the ink and is a bright magenta. Now for Inks! This month I wanted to experiment with more drawing inks and especially with trying to create a vegan drawing ink. There is one fountain pen ink this month, Marigold. It should look familiar because it was created to pair with the Marigold watercolor (above). Drawing Inks! There are two not sparkly inks - Delphinium and Camellia, and one very sparkly Green Beetle. Drawing inks are great for dip pens or using with a brush.
If you subscribed to our Deluxe box, you got everything, plus one of our new My Gay Agenda sketchbooks in the Pride variation. Next month we’ll be featuring more Pride themed art supplies and we’re looking forward to getting them all put together for you. Maxx here to tell you all about what we included in the March subscription boxes. Here's a pre-packed Deluxe box in the photo above. The biggest development is that someone let me order half-size (10mL) jars for the ink. I wanted to start making sets for the ink and using the 20mL jars felt too large.
March's box includes THREE of the sets! I'm sure you can tell I'm really loving making them. Douglas-fir Set is a subscription box early release and won't be in the shop until later this month. It includes two sparkly inks - a deep green and a medium brown - that instantly reminded me of a Douglas-fir. Pseudotsuga menziesii is a pretty impressive tree, with only the Redwoods growing taller. Brewer's favorites Banana Slug, Dahlia & Blood Orange. Like Salish in last month's box, these three expand the line of inks with a modified formula. What do I love about them? They don't lose saturation as quickly as the other inks. This set also comes with a little journal that I block printed, it reads "Make Art, Tell Stories, Change the World, Live Forever". The plan is to have this set of inks rotate out monthly. False Spring It happens every year, right? We get a few days of bright sun and warm weather and forget what spring is actually like in the Pacific NW. This set includes Sky Puddle, Secret Moss & En Nui. I feel like these are my three moods of March and hopefully you'll enjoy them too. Also, did I made a set without sparkles? Yes, I did. Rail Spike Sometimes we find a jar on a shelf and go "Oh, I think there was one jar left of ------" but then we swatch it and get a mystery ink. These are usually drawing inks since they are harder to identify exactly what is in them. Rail Spike is a drawing ink that we thought might be half a dozen other colors but proved to be a limited jar all its own. Silver Half Pan! Just a silver watercolor, but it's new for us. And it looks great. Block Printed Books When we saw these square blank books, we thought they'd be perfect for some of our block prints. You'll find a variety of them in the shop and one of them in your box if you're a Delux Subscriber. I hope you enjoy this nearly-spring collection of art materials. We're looking forward to making even more treats for you in the next month!
