We're excited to introduce an Artist Residency Program with the goal of supporting and helping emerging artists establish a strong career foundation by creating, exhibiting, and publishing a cohesive body of work.
Over the course of three months, a selected artist will be provided:
At the end of the residency period, the artist will have a solo exhibition at Push/Pull and the opportunity to publish a book collecting their new work. Can you believe it? Push/Pull is turning NINE! We couldn't have done it without you, so come celebrate with us Saturday, January 7th, 6-9pm.
We'll have product specials, mystery gifts, and will be unveiling our 2023 VIP Club shirt design by Ballard's own Specswizard. You'll be able to sign up for our VIP Club and get your shirt or tote that night! ♥ We can't wait to see you there! Weather's a bit rough this week so we may be opening a little later on days when there's snow on the roads. Our aim is still to open at 10am every day though, and we're open a little later Tuesday and Wednesday.

Calling all stitchers, knitters, crocheters, and more…Push/Pull’s December art show, "the good scissors!”, will be a first in our new location — all fiber art!
The theme is, in general, 'texture in fiber arts' so pull out “the good scissors” and get inspired to experiment and play with textures! While these pieces will be displayed over the month of December, this is not holiday themed. All fiber art pieces will be considered for the show, but original designs only (no purchased kits or patterns, please. No licensed characters, etc.). All pieces should be display ready (able to hang on a wall). Submission deadline is 12/1/2022 Artwork drop off deadline is 12/13/2022 Show opening is 12/15/2022 6pm - 9pm Artwork shows through 1/17/2023. All unsold artwork must be picked up by 2/1/2023. You may submit up to 5 pieces for consideration. Submit via this form: Maxx here with several big updates. At the end of August we closed our Shilshole location and moved to 2000 NW Market St, just a few blocks away. The Market St location was formerly home to Dakota Art. When they announced the closing of their Seattle store (their Mount Vernon and Bellingham are still open), we swooped in and made a deal not just to move into their location but also to take over the business of selling art supplies. We've been open at the new location since September 7th. Come by and visit us any day. We're open all of them now!
Sunday 10am - 6pm Monday - Wednesday 11am - 7pm Thursday - Saturday 11am - 9pm And YES, we will continue to sell art supplies. We have added to the selection of items and are excited to continue curating the best in professional grad artist materials we can find. Yes, we're now open 5 days a week. Stop in on Wednesdays 1pm - 6pm to meet the newest addition to the Push/Pull family, Megan M.
Megan comes to us from Florida and we're so excited and lucky to have her on our team. See you on Wednesdays! Please wear masks and get vaccinated if you can so we can get back to our full schedule and welcome events back. It's that time of year again, Give Big is here. Give Big is an annual fundraising time for Washington state nonprofits to focus our campaign efforts, leaving us to spend the rest of the year to concentrate on our mission of providing free arts programming.
This year our campaign goal grew as we added Greater Ballard Arts and Ballard Night Out (currently Ballard Night In) to our programming. These community programs support free promotional tools, events, and marketing for the arts community in Ballard. With the addition of GBA and BNO, Push/Pull has taken the role of a leader in the arts community. But we can't do it without your help! You can help us reach our fundraising goals at https://www.givebigwa.org/pushpull. Wondering where your money goes? $15 = one Summer Camp teen art kit $60 = one online teen art session (2 hours) $25 = artist stipend for Ballard Night In $125 = print monthly maps for Ballard Night Out $200 = print art books for Teen Art Program $500 = a week of summer camp online for teens $650 = a week of in-person summer camp Every donation goes to supporting artists - from professional creators to teenage cartoonists. Focusing our fundraising once a year helps us to support artists, students, and neighbors for the rest of the year. It's a lovely day to stay inside under some blankets with a pile of zines. We'll be closed until the snow clear. Stay safe and shop online.
