Block Printing Workshop
February 11th, 12-3pm
Carve and print your own linocut print, for yourself or as a gift! Learn about positive and negative space as the days get darker and experiment with your block print in color or classic black & white. Come carve with Michiko in the gloomy Seattle winter as they have been doing for over ten years.
Michiko is one of the members of Push/Pull and creates many of the patches, stickers and prints using block printing.
All materials are provided. Please wear a mask during class. You're encouraged to bring sketches, but we'll work on the final design concept together. After the initial instruction, you are welcome to take a break for lunch or snack.
Push/Pull's classroom area is accessible, but our bathroom is very small. If you would like more information on Push/Pull's accessibility, please email info@pushpullseattle.com
Michiko Wild is a multidisciplinary artist with ten years of experience block printing. They also do painting, illustration, fiber arts and anything they can get their hands on. Much of their work is informed by their lived experience as trans, queer, disabled, and mixed sansei. They were born in the year of the rabbit.
