Thanks so much to everyone who applied for our Spring Equinox Market! We're excited to announce our lineup for the weekend and can't wait to see everyone there!
In addition to a packed weekend full of amazing artists, Lisa Jordan (@kyr.creates) will be leading Watercolor on the Rocks Sunday evening after the market! You definitely don't want to miss out!
We're thrilled to have Marie Okuma Johnston as our Artist Resident this year!
Marie will be working in our studio for the next few months on pieces for a June show called Gendai Hyakki Yagyo ("Modern Day Parade of Demons") which will showcase current events told through old Japanese folktales. Look forward to it! Thank you again to everyone who applied as well. It was great looking at everyone's work, and there will definitely be more opportunities for you all in the future! 💖 We've put our new risograph machine through the paces, learned its ins and outs, and are now ready to offer printing services to others!
Like a strange hybrid between screenprinting and xerox duplicating, risograph is a unique way to make your book, zine, or print really stand out!
We're excited to introduce an Artist Residency Program with the goal of supporting and helping emerging artists establish a strong career foundation by creating, exhibiting, and publishing a cohesive body of work.
Over the course of three months, a selected artist will be provided:
At the end of the residency period, the artist will have a solo exhibition at Push/Pull and the opportunity to publish a book collecting their new work. Can you believe it? Push/Pull is turning NINE! We couldn't have done it without you, so come celebrate with us Saturday, January 7th, 6-9pm.
We'll have product specials, mystery gifts, and will be unveiling our 2023 VIP Club shirt design by Ballard's own Specswizard. You'll be able to sign up for our VIP Club and get your shirt or tote that night! ♥ We can't wait to see you there! Maxx here with several big updates. At the end of August we closed our Shilshole location and moved to 2000 NW Market St, just a few blocks away. The Market St location was formerly home to Dakota Art. When they announced the closing of their Seattle store (their Mount Vernon and Bellingham are still open), we swooped in and made a deal not just to move into their location but also to take over the business of selling art supplies. We've been open at the new location since September 7th. Come by and visit us any day. We're open all of them now!
Sunday 10am - 6pm Monday - Wednesday 11am - 7pm Thursday - Saturday 11am - 9pm And YES, we will continue to sell art supplies. We have added to the selection of items and are excited to continue curating the best in professional grad artist materials we can find. "Thank you so much for the support. It's wild that a gallery that I literally dreamed up has grown to be such a big part of the arts community in Seattle. And that we now support not just local artists, but hundreds of artists from all over the world. That being said, 2020 has been a rough year. And I'm definitely missing our annual anniversary party where I get to celebrate with all of you. We've been lucky to negotiate our rent down to a point where we can exist, but there are other expenses we are struggling to cover. You can help keep us around in a variety of ways below.
Wear your masks, stay at home, and we'll hope for an 8 year celebration with all of you." -Maxx We are so excited to be celebrating our seven year anniversary, and we have YOU to thank! Want to help keep the magic alive? Check out the exciting options listed here. We're happy to announce the we are open for you to visit. Our adjusted hours are Thursday - Sunday 1pm - 6pm.
