Upcoming Events

Last week's Botanical Watercolors welcomed the change of seasons and featured a palette entirely from our house-made Sticky Cap watercolors!

TONIGHT, September 19, 6-9pm: Grab a bite or beer (or both) at Hattie's Hat and join Ballard Sketch Team for a chill evening of sketchin', art jammin', and idea sharin'!

September 20, 6-9pm: The weather's cooperating for this month's Shrink n' Drink! We'll make n' bake shrinky dinks in the oven without roasting ourselves! Come partake in everyone's favorite craft night!

September 21, 11am-1pm: We miscounted! This is the penultimate Botanical Watercolors of the season! What lovely plant will we paint this week? You gotta come to find out!

September 21, 6-9pm: It's the opening reception for Rock the Block! Come see this awesome collection of student and member work in block printing!

Monday, September 25, 11am-12:30pm: This is the final session of Botanical Sketching for the year! Join Maxx for the last hurrah at Ballard Locks and greet the week and the fall together!

​We're often asked if we carry manga, but like mainstream superhero comics, we generally leave them to the bigger retailers. We do carry indie, self-published titles that fit the style and common genres though!

Next Week!

​September 25, 11am-12:30pm - Seriously, you don't want to miss the last session of Botanical Sketching! The next one won't be until spring!!

September 28, 11am-1pm - And this is the very last in-store Botanical Watercolors of the year! It's getting chilly out, so come in and paint something in warm colors!

September 28, 5-7pm - Spider season has set in, but maybe you can conquer your fears a bit by learning to draw creepy crawlies? Break them down in to harmless shapes and appreciate those weird little forms and maybe they won't be so scary next time you see them? It doesn't hurt to try! Come Draw Bugs!

September 29, noon-4pm - Come to the opening of Rock the Block and see what some of our awesome past students have made, then come to our monthly Block Printing class and see what you can make!

September 29, 6-9pm - Join us at QU-ART, our monthly meetup for queer artists! Bring a pal and project to work on in a chill environment. This event is free, but contributions are welcome!

September 30, 11am-3pm - Bring in some fabric and get ready to get your hands dirty with DIY Screen Printing! Learn how to make your own screens while making a mess in a place where you're not responsible for the clean up... ;)
